The A-10 has a ton of avionics systems and the HOTAS you need to get your head around. NB the A-10 is if anything more complex than the Black Shark, its just the control scheme is more "standard". With the obutto they will be down at waist level and no desk intervening, though I know you have some movable trays and things. 8-)Ĭool! Do you find with the cockpit that the camera has better sightlines? I find I lose tracking when my head dips behind my throttle or the edge of the desk. I have an Obutto cockpit that I bought 4 years ago and was the best investment ever, I have the steering mount, gearbox mount and keyboard/mousepad mount which swings across and I really could never go back to a standard desk setup again. but from what you say a whole lotta fun ! Sounds Epic and I was thinking about getting the A10 version of the game as the Black Shark just sounds way to realistic and difficult to get grips with. Will give it another go tonight and see if I can remember the start up routine and get her airborne, so she can swear at me in a russian accent again Time to invest in an Obutto Cockpit I think (Who am I kidding? I want one anyway ). Wasn't so much of a problem in the A-10 or Sabre. I even tried sticking my camera up on a step ladder to get more space, but I still end up losing tracking when my head dips below the edge of my desk. Set it up so you can see the Nav light switches, and you won't see enough of the Rift Led's to get a good look at the engine start panel. The only downside is that with the need to peer at so many switches with tiny writing, and with such vertical separation between them, you quickly bump into the camera bounds. With the rift it really amplifies the sense of altitude if you open the door and look out  and remindined me of my skydiving days.

I managed to get it in the air before messing something up, and the feeling of gently ascending to 1000 feet is quite a contrast to the standard zoomy take off experience. Its one of the most ambitious and complex flying sims Ive ever encountered - it takes hours and hours just to get this thing off the ground, and then you have to learn to control the damn thing. That moment when the blades start to turn is just awesome - it really gives a sense of the size and power of the thing and makes you want to keep your head down. DCS: Black Shark is not merely a game, its a way of life. If StarForce detects changes to your computer hardware/software as described below, an activation will be required. The product requires online or phone activation. Anyone given DCS Black Shark 2 a go with the Rift? I got hold of it in the sale and I am pretty blown away by it! I am only at the stage of learning the aircraft, but there's something about the very enclosed, high cockpit that REALLY works in the Rift to make you feel like you are right there, and it has a very strong "I want to reach out and flip that switch" effect A: The English release of DCS: Black Shark utilizes StarForce copy protection technology.
